F4 / Thomas Köner
Thomas Köner has transformed the container into a sound sculpture whose musicality is a response to the running water and rustling of the wind at the Blainville-sur-Orme site. The installation is set up in a landscaped park, amongst water, nature, the road with the sound of passing cars and the port in the distance, suspended between a bucolic world and an industrial ambience. The work of sound art adds new dimensions to this strolling and leisure space, bringing to it the activity of the port on the opposite shore, the successive uses and facilities on the banks of the canal and the viewer’s memories. By playing on imaginary elements tied to the sounds around us and on visitors’ aural memory, the installation modifies our usual perception of the site.
